Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme

Before coming into power after the election of 2018, Prime minister Imran Khan promised the nation that he would provide 5 million houses, with low cost in various housing schemes so that all the citizens of Pakistan have a safe roof over their heads. Another reason for building houses was that this would provide a large part of the population, which is un-employed, with employment opportunities and also help the construction sector. Therefore, in order to fulfill his promise to the nation, Prime minister Imran Khan announced the Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme on 10th October 2018.

Location of Naya Pakistan Housing schemes:

These housing schemes will be built in different cities all over the country. The various cities include Islamabad, Rahim Yar Khan, Multan, Vehari, Bahawalpur, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Muzaffargarh, Gilgit, Faisalabad, Layyah, Kasur, Jhelum, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sukkur, Quetta, Muzaffarabad, Swat and Lahore. To increase the sustainability so that these projects fulfil the need of providing employment to a large unemployed population, the government will provide land to private companies in the construction sector, thus making it more of a private-government partnership.

Up till today, the government has announced the launch of 2 housing projects of NPHS. The construction of the first project has already been started in 7 districts of the country including Gilgit, Swat, Muzaffarabad, Sukkur, Faisalabad, Quetta and Islamabad. If you have been selected, you will be required to pay 10% of the total amount of the house and can pay the rest of the amount in the installment plan that will span over 15 to 20 years so that the people with low earning can easily pay the amount. The houses will be allotted to the people within 2 years of the registration but they will not be allowed to sell these houses before 5 years in order to discourage investors from investing in these projects due to which the deserving people will not get a chance to get the house. The categories and prices of the houses are as under.

  • 3-marla house for 16.5 to 17.5 lacs
  • 5-marla house for 21 to 23 lacs
