Before coming into power after the election of 2018, Prime minister Imran Khan promised the nation that he would provide 5 million houses, with low cost in various housing schemes so that all the citizens of Pakistan have a safe roof over their heads. Another reason for building houses was that this would provide a large part of the population, which is un-employed, with employment opportunities and also help the construction sector.
