Karachi’s Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has asked the authorities to complete the first 15 km portion of the Malir Expressway from Jam Sadiq Bridge to Shah Faisal Colony by the second week of August this year. This section of the entire project is expected to be delivered soon to the public. The Malir Expressway has so much significance in today’s modern world because of its benefits.
While discussing the status of major development projects, the CM underlined the importance of the Malir Expressway. He noted that this expressway is significant to cities’ development as it relieves traffic congestion. It can originate from the port and industrial zones. It is believed that due to the provision of the expressway, the traffic congestion on one of Karachi’s most vital roads, Sharea Faisal, will be minimized. This can help the citizens to travel easily in time.
Later, the Chief Minister directed the local government to intensify the efforts on the whole of the Malir Expressway project measuring 38 km in length. The expressway will start from the KPT Interchange passing through Qayyumabad up to Karachi Hyderabad Motorway near KANTHOR up to Malir River. This strategic route looks at helping to ease congestion and enhance integration in the city’s traffic streams.
Key Officials’ Involvement
The meeting with the Officials included Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani, Mayor MurtazaWahab, Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah, Principal Secretary to the CM Agha Wasif, Commr Syed Hassan Naqvi, Local Government Secretary, Khalid Hyder Shah, Transport Secretary Asad Zamin, and CEO Karachi Water & Sewerage Corporation Syed Salahuddin Ahmed. Such officials talked to each other about the particularities of the given project and the measures that are needed to finish the project on time.
